When worms come to infest the brinjal (Solanum melongena) crop, Ajitsingh Gohil takes 100 gram "ratu suvaaliya" seed and 300 g leaves of the same plant. He puts the leaves out to dry, enough to burn. The seeds are then pounded and a fine powder of the seeds is made and kept aside. A small fire is made of the leaves. As smoke emanates, the powder of the seeds is put in the fire, pinch by pinch, along with dill powder. The brinjal crop is exposed to the smoke. It should be ensured that each of the plants gets enough smoke. This is a traditional method.
