Hairy catter pillar is the polyphagous pest. It feeds on number of crops. The catter pillar eats the leaves and tender parts of the crop plant. The pest is traditionally controlled by the decoction made from pigeaon pea. take the 1 kg beans of pigeon pea (Cajanus cajan) and boiled in to 5 L of water, then filter the decoction and use it as a stock solution. Decoction is prepared by above mentioned practice and thereafter, appropriate amount of seeds are taken. These seeds are washed by decoction of pigeon pea. The seeds are spreaded then all over the field.About 70 - 80 % of attack is controlled by this medicine. There is no side effect of the medicine, except its effect on caterpillar. Innovator has learnt this practice form a farmer. About 5-10% of villagers are using this practice.
