About the Practice
Detail:

Heliothis is a key pest of cotton crop. It damages the bolls, squares, flowers and tender shoots of the cotton (Gossypium herbaceum) crop. The extend of damage due to heliothis may exceed 50% of the expected yield. To control this pest, milky latex of Indian spurge tree (Euphorbia neriifolia) is collected in a vessel. Take 1 kg leaves of same plant and pond it to fine material. Mix two liters of water to the pounded material. Keep the mixture as it is for one day and then filter it through the fine cloth. Mix 500 gm of milky latex and 500 gm of the filtered mixture of leaf extract with 14 L of water and spray it on the heliothis infested cotton crop. The remedy is found to provide 50% control over the pest. This is self developed practice. The Indian spurge tree is useful in preparing live fence. It bears red and yellow flowers in the winter season. Milky latex and leaves of tallest and thickest Indian spurge tree (Euphorbia neriifolia) are used for preparation of this remedy.
