To control the stem borer in one acre of land, five kilogram of garlic (Allium sativum) bulbs are peeled and pounded to get the extract. In this extract, two to three liters of water is added and stiirred thoroughly. This mixture is filtered and stored as a stock solution for future use. In fifteen liters capacity pump, 500 ml of this solution is added and sprayed on the affected paddy (Oryza sativa) crop. The effect of this solution can be seen on the next day. In one acre of land, four to five pumps are sprayed. Seventy per cent result is obtained of the treatment.
