Farmers make small bundles of harvested tobacco leaves and keep them in logs for about 10 to 15 days to improve its quality. They also layer bundles of tobacco on calotropis twigs and keep them after spreading tobacco leaves over it. Farmers are of the opinion that this system of making alternative layers of calotropis and tobacco leaves improves the quality of the tobacco during curing. These layers are kept for about 10 days, till a peculiar smell emanates from them indicating the ripening of leaves.
