Gajubhai Gemabhai Parmar from the Vejpura village in the Savli taluka in Baroda district in Gujarat feeds a mixture of the dried flowers of butter tree (Madhuca indica) and cotton ball to compensate for the scarcity of green fodder during summer. Parmar boils two kilogrammes of the dried flowers of butter tree with cotton balls and feeds it to cattle. Only a few farmers in this region use this practice. Feeding animals with cotton seed and seed cake is a much more common practice.
