Crop of finger millet starts withering at the time of grain filling stage, leaves becomes yellowish, yellowing of crop may be due to scares rain. But many times even though the rainfall is sufficient plants starts yellowing. In such cases, 200 g dry excrement is dumped in the corner of the finger millet field. This stops yellowing of plants and the plants starts recovering. After recovery of plants, remove the excrement from the pit. There is no side effect of this treatment. This practice is also effective in the pigeonpea crop when it is infested with root damaging insects.
