Due to small caterpillar infestation, sesame seeds become hollow. To control the pest, in one bag of sesame seed to be stored, a few "gavhakda" fruit are put and then the bag is stitched up. "Gavhakda" prevents pests. "Gavhakda" is a creeper that grows in the monsoon and available in the Junagadh area. It is similar to "cheebhda" creeper plant. "Gavhakda" fruits are bitter. Hence cattle animals do not touch the plant
