Detail:

The crop of Ladies fingers so called bhindi is infested with number of insect pests. One of the major insect pest infesting this crop is helilothis. Under such a condition, sprinkle the juice of flowers of mahua on the affected crop results in control of this pest. About 40 to 50% control can be obtained. The spraying is to be done twice a week.

"One kg ‘karanj’ (Pongamiapinnata) leaves and bark are soaked in five litre water and boiled for half an hour. It is strained and diluted in 15 litre water. This solution is used for spraying and is highly effective in controlling heliothis pest.”

PAS 2:

"One kg of garlic is crushed and soaked overnight in 200 ml of kerosene. The next morning, two kg of green chilli are ground and added to this mixture. By adding 200 litre of water to this mixture the solution is sprayed on the crop for controlling heliothis and caterpillar.”
