After one month of plantation of ivy gourd, knot formation is observed on its vine, in which small white-coloured sucking pests are found. This sucking pest sucks the juice of vine and weakens the plant. To rid the vine of the pest, a solution of asafoetida is prepared in water and injected in the knot for control of this sucking pest. The quantity of asafoetida is taken at the rate of 100 gram for one acre.
