To increase yield in groundnut, the crop was sown at the spacing of 1 x1 feet. This was then helped with mulching the crop with the layer of dry plant parts. Before sowing, the land is prepared by adding about two ton of cow dung compost for 2.4 ha land to improve its fertility. Then after the soil is turned with plough to mix the fertilizer and make the soil more porous. Sowing is done after complete land preparation. Apply the mulch of straws of cluster bean, husk of wheat and other dry matter of plants making the layer of about two inches between the rows. The practice helps restore the moisture and donot allow the weeds to grow. It also helps the groundnut crop to spread in more area and its roots being unbound goes deep into the soil. This helps growth of more spikes and clusters of pods. Reaping of groundnut gives more fodder for animal as well as gives more yield.
