Jason Jerome of Tamil Nadu has combined astrological knowledge with agricultural practices to get better yield of paddy and other crops. According to him, the constellation of Leo enhances the growth of seeds and fruits. In the year 1997 he sowed paddy when the waning moon was coinciding with Leo constellation. He was able to get good paddy seeds. The paddy crop was also free from pests and diseases. He sowed chilli (Capsicum annuum) seeds when the moon was opposite Saturn. After 28 days, when the moon was again opposite to Saturn, he transplanted the chilli seedlings. When pests affected the chilli crop of neighboring farmers, his crop was free from them. He advised a farmer to follow the same practice with tomato seeds. The crop was excellent and free from pests and diseases. According to Jerome, the moon-opposite-Saturn gives balanced nourishment of calcium and silica that are responsible for form, shape and strength of plants. This phase occurs every 28 days. Sow paddy when the waning moon coincides with Leo constellation. Sow chilli (Capsicum annuum) seeds when the moon is opposite to Saturn. After 28 days, when the moon is again opposite to Saturn, transplant the chilli seedlings.
