A way to predict rains by observing a natural phenomenon known datardu or sickle. NaranbhaiKesharbhaiVadodariya, a farmer from Junagadh district of Gujarat claims that he can predict rains by observing a natural phenomenon known as datardu or sickle. It can be seen around the moon at nine o'clock on the night of Vaishakhsudi 8 (eighth day of the bright half of the month of Vaishakh). If the moon is on the pointed end of the sickle, scanty rains are indicated. If the moon is positioned at the middle of the sickle, medium rains are indicated. If it is located on the handle of the sickle, it means good or heavy rains.Look for a sickle around the moon at nine o'clock on the night of Vaishakhsudi 8 (eighth day of the bright half of the month of Vaishakh). If the moon is on the pointed end of the sickle, scanty rains are indicated. If the moon is positioned at the middle of the sickle, medium rains are indicated.
