Debarking by beating the bark to start bearing in the coconut (Cocosnucifera) and Mango (Mangiferaindica) orchard. Farmers of the rainfed areas of Tamil Nadu follow a unique practice in their coconut (Cocosnucifera) and Mango (Mangiferaindica) orchards to promote bearing.When there is a solar or lunar eclipse they repeatedly beat the bark of the unbearing coconut and Mango orchard, using one to one-and-a-half meter high iron cupped poles used for pounding grains (along with pounding stones).The bark is pierced.
