A schoolgirl from Pawan Public School, Pauni came up with an idea, which paved a path to better living for many. A writing pen has become a ubiquitous item from young to old, from poor to rich and from school to offices. Heavy usage of plastic triggered in idea in the mind of this bright girl, who cares a lot for the environment. In rural India an unskilled woman can earn no more than 1000 to 1500 after a hard day's manual work. Widows or single mothers are normally abandoned by her family. The first toll this takes is education of her children.
Paper Pen is nothing, but an old newspaper rolled around a refill and with little aesthetics, an instrument which is truly mightier than a sword and yet extraordinarily environmentally friendly. Unskilled women could roll these pens at home and earn decent livelihood making their and their children's future bright. The product is not just bringing greenery in their lives, but the seeds rolled in the paper continue to make the earth green even after the pen is used & thrown. de'haat is not just the empowering the women financially but also caring for the future generations.
