Upon research over cigarette butts, it was found that the cigarette butts are made up of cellulose acetate which looks like cotton but plastic in reality. Also, a single cigarette butt can contaminate more than 1 litre of water if disposed inappropriately and takes more than 10 years to decompose naturally. The chemicals trapped by a cigarette butt also leech into the environment and cause serious impact on marine and aquatic life leading to land and water degradation. As per general surveys, an estimate 4.5 trillion cigarette butts are disposed worldwide making it the most littered item globally.

Code Effort Private Limited provides an end-to-end solution to the problem of cigarette butts. Organization provides a complete PAN India system for collecting the cigarette waste with the help of volunteers, contract- based suppliers and corporates. The collected cigarette waste is processed/ recycled at the factory in Noida, U.P using the confidential chemical composition and machineries in the most environmentally responsible manner by trained staff. The recycled cigarette waste is used to manufacture various categories of by- products having multiple designs like handicrafts, soft toys, cushions, mosquito repellents and mattresses to name a few.
