Problem Statement:

Earthing up implement for sugarcane (5 Feet spacing)

Detail:

Usually sugarcane is being cultivated in ridges and a spcaing of 2.1/2 -3 feet is given. Now sakthi sugars has introduced cane harvesting machine. The factory is recommending a spacing of 5 feet weet between rows. The farmers are adopting this practice in large area. For earthing up operation Rs.1500 to Rs.2000 is given as wages for manual labour. If the operation is done by this implement only Rs.650 is spent. Thus, a saving of Rs.650 to 1350 per acre is there for a farmer. The operation of this implement has been demonstrated in Orissa also. There is good response in both Orissa and Sakthi sugars area. Experts from Australia and Japan have also been personally this operation and appreciated very much.
