Problem Statement:

Requirement of Low cost thresher

Detail:

To increase the life period of the existing model Mr. Manivannan simply advises that the farmers had to frequently change Blade, Worker shaft, Crankshaft, 35 bearing weights since all the items were made with cheap Cast Iron. Based on the idea, he had developed the model with M.S. iron rods. He used thread bolts against the troublesome small bearings. It is based on the simple principle similar that of hand threshing performed by labourers in the field. It is operated by tractor PTO shaft. The output of the shaft is taken via 3 belts. One is at the foremost part used to separate the grains from the inserted husk and act as a huller, another at the rear is used to rotate the whole cylindrical body with fan attachment and the third is near the hopper used to separate the husks. In the inner portion 700 M.S. iron rods are attached to rotate the inserted material and performed the threshing operation by entering them into 6 sub portions. But the existing model has only 8 blades. Belts are attached with the help of cylindrical iron wheels made with M.S. iron. It is non-separable. So, all the auxiliary parts are long lasting. The material inserted should undergo 3 rotations to separate the grains individually and inert chaff materials will be exerted out with the help of fan. Since the mechanism is similar that of hand threshing there will not be any possibility of damaging grains and it is done by reduction facility arrangement of RPM of drum with wheel. The stones and other unwanted debris could be removed with the help of 3m.m. gauge sieves attached. The tractor plunge can easily be fitted with the thresher. Diesel consumption is 3 litres per acre and per hour threshing efficiency is 40 bags, i.e. (40 x 75kgs per bag =3,000kgs). As the cautious attachments are fully protected in this new machine there will not be any damage to the working labourers. The cost is around Rs.1,45,000/-and per hour rental fee is Rs.400/-. So far he has sold 20 machines along and hiring is also possible. Now he is manufacturing new machines in his lathe workshop.
