At present it has a discharge of 1 inch. The motor pump costs only Rs. 3500. To make the machine give a discharge of 4 inches, the modification in the pump raises the pump cost to Rs. 5000. Salient Features of Shakun‟s pump: This multi-input pump developed by Mr. Shakun das can be operated by hand, diesel engine or electrical motor. This is a multi cylinder-reciprocating pump used to lift water to different heights. The salient features of this pump are: 1. High discharge head: It can supply water up to 32 feet easily with a capacity of 30 litres per minute. 2. Simplified configuration: The configuration of the pump is simple and can be manufactured with low skill. The piston-cylinder, motor and other parts are mounted on a single chassis. 3. Portable: The pump can be brought from one position to another position easily due to portable trolley attachment 4.
