About the Practice
Problem Statement:

At present accident mostly occurs due to rash driving, over speed and without safety precautions on road. People do not bother about human life. The accidents rate increased largely particularly in case of bike because of increased number of bikes on road. With the increasing vehicular population and their movements on the roads, accidents are also steadily increasing. It has become a nightmare for the authorities to prevent or reduce such fatal accidents on the road and all their efforts are in vain. According to the Indian road accidents survey, every year there are more than 1,35,000 incidents of a road accidents. Out of these, most of them are due to rash driving. According to Indian Constitution, rash driving is an offence. So, our idea is to design a module which can detect the vehicle whenever it is rashly driven or driven above permissible speed limit, and transmit the data to the concerned authority.

In this project, without disturbing bike's actual speedometer we will detect over speed using speed sensor made by DC motor and fan. After detection of over speed or accident, the flow of fuel will be slow down, so that the driver can park the bike at the roadside and after certain moment, the fuel will be cut off for specified time.This cut off of fuel for specified time gives the penalty to driver.

Practice Details

Link: In this idea without disturbing bike's actual speedometer we will detect over speed using speed sensor made by DC motor and fan. This sensor will be fitted in plastic pipe to face air in front of DC motor. For accident detection, we will use tilt sensor which produces an electric signal that varies with an angular movement. Whenever the bike will be tilted by more than 45 degree angle, tilt sensor will trigger GSM modem to call or send SMS. After detection of over speed or accident, the flow of fuel will be slow down, so that the driver can park the bike at the roadside and after certain moment, the fuel will be cut off for specified time. This cut off of fuel for specified time gives the penalty to driver.
